The School  Children Wellbeing and Brain Development Project led by Beijing Normal University looks explores the brain development and its variations during school years, the mutual relationships between brain development and school function and personality (cognitive and non-cognitive) across time, as well as the gene-experience interaction on brain and school function, across time. In total, 3,000 school age children age 7-15 are participating in the project. This study will form a comprehensive longitudinal database of Chinese school children, including gene, environment, brain, behavioral data. The study will also establish association patterns between brain development, school function and personality in the context of Chinese culture. It is also excepted that subtypes of well-/poor-school adjustment and the prediction from brain and behavioral development. The study will also facilitate research, exchange and public understanding of child brain and behavioral development in China.
